What’s Next: Drawing Up Strategies after the Hockey Canada Trial Verdict

After the London, Ontario trial and acquittal of 5 former junior Hockey Canada male players – and the ordeal E.M. experienced both as a survivor of their harm years ago as well as testifying during the Summer 2025 trial – what do we do to nurture true change within hockey culture and across our sports spaces & local communities?

Jeff Perera and the Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario are bringing you a 5part Instagram Live series on ‘What’s Next: Drawing Up Strategies after the Hockey Canada Trial Verdict’

Jeff talked to a group of experts and educators about the needed next steps re: engaging young men/young male hockey players on consent, respect and being change-makers towards a safer and more accountable hockey culture off the ice and amongst women and girls.

Think of it as being ‘Ice Breakers’ breaking new ground and new paths on the ice. Canada rallied with ‘Elbows Up’… we can rally around this issue too.

Here are the 5 Instagram Live Video conversations!
